This heritage apple variety was grown throughout the central and southern part of Maine in the 1900s. Replacing Baldwin apples as a more cold tolerant apple. It is round vigorous growing apple with a combination of dull red and green. A true all purpose variety that keeps all winter long. The flesh is firm and crisp, juicy and mildly sweet-tart.
