Minnewashta apple was created by the university of Minnesota in its apple breeding program. Trade marked supermarket name is Zestar. It is an extremely hardy high quality late summer apple. Medium sized round apple covered with red stripes and blush. This apple is crisp and juicy with a well balanced sweet flavor. Excellent when tree ripened. It bears abundant crops annually and keeps seven weeks in cold storage. Zone 3, bloom group 2
