Cortland is a popular apple variety in northern New England. Medium to large apple that is slightly ribbed mostly red fruit. It’s white flesh is crisp, juicy and somewhat tart. It is good in salads because it is slow oxidizing. Makes a good cider or juice on its own. It is a vigorous tree with heavy annual crops. Zone 4-8, boom group 3
